As we approach the two-year anniversary of CFA, let’s take a look back at the event that started it all.

Championship Fighting Alliance held it’s first show at Florida International University’s U.S. Century Bank Arena on May 6, 2011. The show had 8 fights on the card.

A packed house witnessed history in the making.

It featured a hard-hitting main event with Luis Palomino versus Peter Grimes in a fight where the Peruvian, Palomino, defeated his foe via Armbar in the 4th round at 4:59.

The co-main event had locals Joe Ray versus John Kelly. Ray came out with the win in the first round via Armbar submission in the first round.

CFA welterweight contender Valdir Araujo TKO’d Ken Jackson in the first round in the 6th fight of the evening.

The card featured UFC veteran and former CFA champion Yoislandy Izquierdo and current CFA title challenger Oscar Delgado. Also Jayson Jones, who is a 7-time CFA veteran fought on the card.
