SMITH IS READY TO PROVE THE WORLD SHE IS A TOP FIGHTER

BY RRR

CFA fighter Ashlee Evans Smith wants to show the world she is someone fans should keep an eye on in mixed marital arts.

At CFA 10, she will have a chance to showcase her skills and wipe her last defeat out of the critic’s minds, as she will make her professional debut.

“I want to show the fight word that the knockout was great,” she said on an interview on The Roman Show. “I am an up and coming fighter to look for. Once I get a couple of wins, I can get past the 5 second knockout.”

Smith will compete at CFA 10 March 2 at the Bank United Center. She will face Tori Adams (1-0). Tickets on sale at www.ticketmaster.com.

Last year, she suffered a 5 second knockout by the hands of InvictaFC fighter Veronica Rothenhausler in an amateur level fight, but Smith has now left that in the past and is ready to show the mma world she is a force to be reckoned with.

“I have been training for this fight for months,” she said. “I took some time off after my last amateur fight.”

She changed camps and says she has learned from her mistakes.

“I knew I wanted to make the jump from the amateur to the pro level so

I knew I had to train harder,” she said.

Smith met Adams in the amateur level, but she can’t pinpoint if she will face the same fighter she last fought. Smith lost to Adams via submission back in 2011.

“I don’t ever predict fights and I won’t predict how she is coming off,” she said.

One thing she is confident about is that she is a completely different fighter.

“I am a hundred percent better of a fighter than the last time we fought

in the amateur level,” she said.

To her, failure only builds strength.

“The losses make you stronger and I agree with it a hundred percent,” she said.
