BY: RODOLFO ROMAN It has been about five months since Josh Sampo defeated Bellator veteran Alexis Vila for the CFA flyweight title at CFA 09 Night of Champions. Since then, the Missouri fighter has been getting physical but not inside the cage, instead he has been hitting the books. Sampo is a strong believer in education. He received a master’s degree in education from lindenwood University and is currently looking for a position. “I think that education is a huge factor for fighters. You can only fight for so long in your life and you have to have something to fall back on,” he said. Currently, Sampo has not fights lined up but he is read to defend his title. “I’m doing my best to be in shape and ready to fight when the time arises,” he said. “The past few months I’ve been devoting my time to help my teammates out and getting them ready for their upcoming fights.” Follow Sampo on Twitter @JSampoMMA
