BY RODOLFO ROMAN Luis “Baboon” Palomino didn’t waste time to try to earn something he wants dearly. Palomino knocked out his opponent Robert Washington in the first round at 3:26 at CFA 11 live on AXS TV. Soon after, he spoke to the media and made it clear he wants a rematch against the lightweight champion Luiz Bucape Firmino. Both men fought back at CFA 09, where Firmino defeated Palomino via decision. Palomino then took to social media calling out the champion and after much back-and-forth conversations with fans, Firmino finally reached out to the Peruvian fighter via phone. He proposed a winner take all fight with the victor taking the belt and purse. “It took a hell of a lot of work,” Palomino said on The Roman Show. “Buscape was running from me.” Palomino said CFA CEO Jorge de la Noval promised him a title shot if he were to defeat Washington decisively. “He (Buscape) was not trying to give me the opportunity I gave him once when I gave him the opportunity for the title cause that’s how it was,” he added. As of right now, both fighters have verbally agreed, but a contract has not been signed. Chances are that, if the contract is signed, Buscape versus Palomino II could take at CFA 12.
