INTERIM CFA FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT HAS BEEN SCRATCHED; CHAMP DIAGNOSED WITH INFECTION
MIAMI, FL—Interim CFA featherweight champion Sean Soriano has been diagnosed with a staph infection and will be unable to defend his title against Alejandro Garcia at CFA 12 Oct. 12, 2013 at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fl. live on AXS TV.
CFA 12 tickets for the nationally televised event, which will air on AXS TV, start at $29 and are on sale at all Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster.com, charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000 and via www.cfafights.com.
CFA CEO Jorge de la Noval confirmed the news today.
“It’s unfortunate to hear that Sean has been diagnosed with this infection,” he said. “We wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery, so he can soon compete inside the CFA cage to defend his title.”
Soriano is one of many title fights that were scheduled. However, four title fights remain in place for the CFA 12 fight card including CFA flyweight champion Josh Sampo vs Sam Thao; Ashlee Evans Smith vs Fallon Fox for the women’s featherweight title; Valdir Araujo vs Romario Manoel de Silva for the vacant CFA welterweight title and Yosdenis Cedeno vs Torrance Taylor for the vacant CFA lightweight title.
