MIAMI, FL–Championship Fighting Alliance (CFA) CEO Jorge de la Noval has announced that Welterweight champion Marcelo Alfaya and Lightweight champion Luiz “Buscape” Firmino have been released.

“A CFA champion represents a true mixed martial artist. A true champion doesn’t get to choose their opponents. They fight whoever the top contender is in their respected weight class,” de la Noval said. “Picking and choosing opponents will be not permitted. CFA believes in only the best competition for our fans. Champions should lead by example for upcoming fighters.”
